Flooded – Poetry Of An Aspergian

Raise a glass to the single mom

Warriors you are, kids from the ghettos

Dine at my feast of endless applause

All those toiling undetected on the spectrum

To everyone, and anyone, in between

A simple thanks for your courage

Wielding magnificence no king will ever wear

And shining brighter than a thousand suns

The Earth needs warriors

Braver than those that don masks and capes

Or metal suits of armor

Peaceable, passionate, and profound

Are their speeches, the righteous refusal

Of subjugation

Can we ever fully comprehend the spectacle?

You surely blow mine away

God promised us with a rainbow

That he’d never flood us again

But he did

With the wondrous hearts that stand behind it
