Chronic pain sufferer Daisy Hoskins finally gets diagnosis after decades of doubt

Daisy Hoskins lives with chronic pain and has spent her life trying to find out why.

As a child, she would go to hospital with severe muscle soreness only to be told her pain was imaginary. Ever since, medical professionals have dismissed her suffering as a result of weight gain and poor mental health.

One consultation in particular stays with her. 

“The doctor had actually written ‘attention-seeking’ in the notes and he spoke to my mum about seeing a child psychologist,” she said.

The doctor wrote:

“Attention-seeking behaviour???

“Plan — Extensive discussions with mum in regards to the family situation and the child’s behaviour at home/mum’s thoughts about the situation.” […]
